  • ISTEP+ Urgent Administration Reminder

TAs must follow the protocols outlined in the TA Certification course for approving student users for test sessions. To date, over 200 students were impacted this week by test administration oversights. Use the ‘Approve All’ in the TA Interface with extreme caution to ensure students are provided the opportunity to complete this graduation requirement with fidelity.

  • October 21, 2019 – Updates for Technology Coordinators

The American Institutes for Research (AIR) updated the Technology Guides to include recent information. AIR recently discovered that using the Secure Profile on Mac OS desktops and laptops will not prevent students from using the keyboard command to capture screenshots. As a short-term solution, AIR included step-by-step instructions for disabling this keyboard command in the 2019-2020 Additional Configurations and Troubleshooting Guide for Mac. AIR and Apple are working together to develop a Secure Profile that disables the keyboard command.

Additionally, the 2019-2020 Technology Setup for Online Testing Quick Guide and the 2019-2020 Operating System Support Plan have revised information on supported iOS and Android devices. Fourth generation iPads are no longer supported because those devices are unable to update to a supported iOS version. Supported Android tablets must be able to operate within a restricted profile, in addition to running a supported Android OS version, to be compatible with online assessment administration.
